About Ana

Hey! There's a good chance we are already friends if you are here, but just in case we haven't met yet, I'm Ana White.  

Ten years ago, we built our first house and by the time we moved in, we were so dead broke that we couldn't afford furniture.  Tired of sleeping on a mattress on the floor, I used scrap wood from our house to build a farmhouse bed.  It turned out so well, I went on to build all the furniture in my house.  Six years ago, I started sharing my plans through my blog Ana-White.com.  That's pretty much my story.

You could say I'm obsessed with furniture.  Even after all these years, thousands of projects, three DIY houses, countless magazine features, a best selling book and filming for HGTV and DIY Network, I'm still in it for the furniture.  I love woodworking.  I love turning something as humble as lumber into projects that are beautiful and functional and change the way a home functions and looks.

I wanted to make some goofy t-shirts to share my passion with the world (and also excuse why I might be covered in sawdust or have paint in my hair), so I had some of my designs turned into statement tees.  Turns out I'm not the only weird wood lady out there - many of you have requested these shirts too!
